STAGING TESTIMONIALS

Thank you Barb! Happy New Year to you too.
I can't say enough about the ASP course that changed my life. I know there are other courses out there offering certification, but from my research the ASP course is the best because it's more thorough and gives you the business tools you need to start off on the right foot.
I still use all my materials and am most proud of my Career Book, which I show off proudly and get many compliments on.
I am happy to help where I can for now, with the growth of the Canadian market for you and would some day be interested in training.
Continued success for 2006!

Barbara Katnich

I didn’t realize what a difference it would make…

I didn’t realize what a difference it would make, to have stagers stage my home. I was fortunate recently to be offered the opportunity for my home to be used during a stager class. My husband and I are design professionals. Our house is on the market and we’re familiar with the concept of depersonalizing a home for resale. But I truly did not realize the difference it would make…here’s the scoop!

My family and I waited in anticipation to see the transformation, after a class skillfully staged our home. My husband was the first to see it. “What does it look like?” I asked. “Can you say model home?” he replied.

I had no idea what to expect. When I walked in, I was truly speechless, I’m not just saying that. Every room I entered, I wanted to stay in the previous one…there was just so much to admire. All I kept saying over and over was “Oh my goodness!”

The team not only packed away much more than I would have expected, they left only the pieces that we truly love. Paintings, accessories, etc. were moved around within the house, this not only gave the entire home a fresh perspective it was just lovely!

Little touches, such as a wine bottle, a good book and a crystal flute, graced my bathroom. You walk in and it sets the mood. Ornamental grass cuttings were brought in from my garden, to accent the dining room table, fully set by the way! Fantastic!

Is it practical you ask? I can safely say that even with 3 kids and a busy schedule, it is practical. Simplicity of design is the key to easy upkeep! We eat on the breakfast bar rather than the table. Kitchen items are in the drawer rather than on the counter, no problem.

A simple touch of a piece of fabric draped over the California shutters, starfish accents through the home reflecting our love for the beach, flowers on each of my daughters dresser pulls…genius!

What more can I say? My family appreciates all the hard work, expertise, and talent that went into this production. I truly believe that staging is not just for selling your home. A stager’s eye can help to maximize the look of your home, give it a fresh new perspective, and just generally lighten the feel and mood of the home. When I relay the experience to neighbours, co-workers, friends, it’s as if it was yesterday, unbelievable. Many of my neighbours could not wait to take a look.

Bottom line, when the TV design shows show the “after” the expression on the people’s faces are real. I experienced it first hand and am still smiling.

Thanks again to all who took part in this. You are truly talented and I wish you all the best in this career. I have photographed the rooms and will definitely continue to apply these principles.

1 month ago I made a presentation in front of 50 Realtors® at the Security Pacific office in Richmond. From that presentation I have received many new clients. My favorite one so far is the following:

The Realtor® called and asked me to do a bid on her clients' home. They were getting divorce and it wasn't a very happy situation. On top of that, the house really did not show well. It was vacant and the homeowner's had done some work, painting, carpet and a new roof. By the time I saw it the house had been on the market for one week.

I put in my bid. The client did not want to spend the $2,000 to do it and declined. Later that day the Realtor® called me back and said that the client had spoken to a few people who said that Staging really made a difference and so he changed his mind.

I Staged the home a few days later and gave the homeowner a list of a few more items to do (clean garage, new mail box, wood chips in the front and fix the fence that was following down.

The day before I Staged the house they received an offer for $5,000 less than their asking. The day after I Staged the house they had an open house and received 6 offers with finally accepting the one that was ONE HUNDRED AND THREE THOUSAND OVER ASKING!

Now that it is what I call a great $2,000 investment. I went by yesterday and the homeowner was there. He wanted to hug and kiss me so bad he couldn't stand it!

It so nice being right all the time
Thanks Barb. Kym

The house that Trinity and I Staged last week was listed at $525,000.00 and was on the market for about 2 weeks. We Staged in on a Thursday and the Realtor® held an open house on Saturday and got an offer for $5000.00 over the asking price. They really were worried they would have to drop the price because the deck in the backyard was in bad shape. Well, were the surprised! It really looked great and we had so much fun Ataging it! Can I still put the house on the stagedhome.com site since it will be in escrow for awhile? After all, you never know.

Thanks again for all that you do.
